April 2018

Last weekend a group of Year 5s went to Renishaw to take part in the wonderful Greenpower event. As we arrived, lots of amazing go-karts were set up. In the day we took part in 3 outstanding activities: slalom, sprint and drag. And.. well.. we got some pretty good results. We came home with a 3rd in both slalom and sprint. All of us are dying to do it again as it was so fun. We are sad to stop racing Tornado and Fire Spirit now. We want to thank Mr Kenyon for giving up his time. We also want to thank Ms Nisbett and the teachers for letting us do this.

We were racing different cars and seeing who can go the fastest. I enjoyed the drag race because you could just go straight. We came 3rd out of all the schools, but in the final I got pushed into a real car by another go-kart.
We were racing different cars. I enjoyed the sprint race because it was intense. We did well and we got to the finals and Seb raced in the finals. I would do it again because it was fun.

September 2017

We have started our Greenpower project this week!

On Friday we learnt about the parts that make up the go kart and what each of their jobs is. We have started learning about the forces that will act on our go kart in our science lessons too.
